The Genre
Science fiction is misunderstood. Or, rather to say, there is a certain sub-set of what's called science fiction that isn't.
Here's an example:
Imagine a transport full of life strange forms with odd, glowing trapezoid-shaped-devices that they continuously touch and rotate.
Ok, now let's transform that paragraph without the key referents:
Imagine a x full of y with z that they continuously touch and rotate.
And now the mundane version:
Imagine a bus full of people with smartphones that they continuously touch and rotate.
It's not science fiction. Not even the first version is. It's a way of stepping back on regular life just a little.
