God's Judgment on America?

If you think God is judging America by appointing Obama and plunging her into financial ruin, you don't understand a few things.

America has just as many resources as ever.  The natural resources and human resources are abundant, it's the man-made financial turmoil that is making everyone wig out right now.  I know it's a big deal when my pastor tells everyone they're going to see hyperinflation which will ultimately herald the anti-christ.

And, Obama is not the anti-christ.  Or, if he is, I don't care.  I am a Christian and my job is to point to Jesus, not some anti-jesus behind every bush.

Nowhere are believers told to watch for the appearance of the anti-christ.  On the contrary, we are told to watch for Jesus Christ.  In Titus 2:13 Paul says we are to live "looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus." Likewise, Peter urges us to "fix our hope completely on the grace to be brought to us at the revelation of Jesus Christ" (1 Peter 1:13).  John completes the apostolic chorus by similarly urging us to "fix our hope on Him" at His appearing (1 John 3:2-3).

God has not abandoned us.  He is right here in the midst of this, along side us.  Our Paraclete to the end.

There is a huge transfer of wealth going on, that is true.  But if we pay attention during the reconstruction, we can do some major good.  If we don't give up and we avoid acting like this is some kind of prophesy, we Christians can do a great amount of good for the glory of God.

It reminds me of the Northridge (California) Earthquake in 1994.  Back then, a wise man told me how God could use this earthquake to move people around.  It had the net effect of placing non-believers in the same house as believers where a lot of good could happen.  Hurricane Katrina has a similar effect.

This economic turmoil has been compared to a natural disaster by a great many people.  It has a lot of similarities.  People are being uprooted, resources are needed.  People need to be loved.  The fact that this turmoil has a human cause doesn't change the fact that there are innocents involved.  Very few of us will encounter anyone who caused this, so we should focus on the innocent.

If you think sub-prime caused this mess, you are mistaken.  Sub-prime was the proverbial "canary in the coal mine."  The human heart was the cause of this mess.  We are experiencing the natural consequence of unbridled greed.  That greed lead to unlimited liquidity, which lead to this mess.

Another cause of this mess is lethargy.  In that way, We The People are to blame.  Although there were people who purposefully directed us into these problems, we sat back and expected Superman or Batman or Ron Paul to step in and fix it.  They are not going to do that.  They can't.

Then again, maybe I think I see lethargy because I don't have a $300k retirement account that went to $250k, then $175k.  That would be pretty stressful to watch if it was happening to me, and I most certainly wouldn't be lethargic.

Even Ron Paul knows the only way out is by active participation of the people in their government.  We have to take an active role and educate ourselves.  Instead, we have let the government go unchecked.  We have to fix that.  If we expect one person or a group of people to take care of us, we'll be right back here in no time.

The only exception to what I said about not expecting one man to fix everything is Jesus.  When Jesus comes back to judge the living and the dead, all bets are off.  I have put my faith in that one man and I have no doubt He'll come through.  But until then, we have a role to play in taking back our life, liberty, and private property.  Join me.

By the way, a lot of people are confused by this rapture event.  It's related to Jesus coming back to judge the living and the dead, but probably not what a lot of you've been taught.  Here's a quick explanation of the rapture in less than two minutes:

Excellent article Anthony. You've put a lot of thought into what you've said here. Yes, Jesus is the paraclete and we need to focus on our relationship with Him and share our faith with the world. I'm not troubled by the events of the day. I trust God with all my heart and I know it's in His hand.

Thank-you. I started writing it a few months ago and have added to it when things come to mind. I always seem to have about 40 such articles in progress!

Tweak it, re-read it. Repeat. Until it's ready.

A nation that has turned away from God is a fallen nation. God has blessed this nation from it’s foundations and it is even on our money In God We Trust. This is why we have been the greatest nation on earth.

This election is a watershed and we will pay as a nation for our sins. God has let this man become President as a judgment. One of our founders said and I am not sure who but they said (man shall ether be governed by God or ruled by tyrants) I will show the respect he deserves but he is nothing more than one who rules not governs.

Hi Sam.

We are certainly getting what we asked for, but is that judgment? Was Saul's rule a form of judgment on Israel?

Hi Anthony,

I do think this is judgment. Any nation that has turned away from God is has fallen. God said to Israel if you follow my law I will bless you. But in that day when your barns and storehouses become full and your wealth is increased be sure not to say in your heart it was my own hand that has made me rich but remember to follow the commandments I have set before you and do not to forget the Lord thy God. We are no longer a christian nation and this was our founding principle.

The founders told the King of England we hold theses truths to be self evident that all man where created by God and have certain inalible rights. In other words our Rights come from God and can not be dimished by you. It is almost like the Obama voters are caught up in some sort of spell or something and you can't convince them otherwise. I think this is a spiritual force because it defies logic and can not be broke by human convincing.

When it comes to judgment, I think we're just talking semantics, here. Either way, God will not leave his remnant. He never has and he never will.

As for the "Obama spell," I think that's similar to something attributed to Benjamin Franklin:

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

That's one of the reasons the founding fathers loathed the idea of "a democracy."

The quote was attributed to Benjamin Franklin, not the "Obama spell".

I know of the quote by Benjamin Franklin and so true and God will not leave his remnant. However I do believe this is something more happing now other than our democracy falling apart. I think this is a spiritual force because it defies logic. The Obama voter is under a spell. Going back to the bible and the story of Abraham and Sarah God promised a son but Sarah was old and told Abraham to take the maid servant and have child so he did and bore Ismail who the bible says was a wild man and the father of the Arabs'. Later God gave Isaac as the son God had planed. The father of all the Jews. We as christians are grafted into the linage of the Jews by the sprit of Christ. The nonbeliever is grafted into the linage of the Arab spiritually speaking. This is a separation of the sheep and goats as Jesus spoke of or the tares and the wheat that the angles will gather at the end of the age and throw what is not of God into the fire. The bible says they have ears and do not hear and eyes and do not see. The nonbeliever is lead by the spirit of this world and the thief comes to steal kill and destroy this is why the are intrigued by Obama whom they often refer to as the Messiah. Barack Husain Obama 3 Arab names. He is a nonbelieving spiritual Arab.

So a politician has very poor spiritual judgment. What else is new?

Although Dr. Martin Luther King and the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Obama's pastor of 20 years were both ministers I think the similarities stop there. Dr. Martin Luther King had a message of passive resistance, justice, equality among men. The Rev. Jeremiah Wright has one of well... what do you think?

I've come to hate the mocking tone in which MSM uses "guilt by association"...as if that's never fair. I was always taught that you could tell a lot about a person by the friends that they keep...and you can certainly tell a lot by the mentors and pastors they choose.
